
Admission to the PPGCOGCOM/UFMG master and Phd degree is annual. The admission process occurs in the second semester and the selected candidates will join the program the following year. Usually around 25 vacancies are offered for the master’s degree and around 8 for the PhD degree.
To sign up:
- download the announcement of the admission process (http://www.fafich.ufmg.br/psicogcom/selecao/);
 - fill out the registration form;
 - generate and pay the ticket for the registration fee (https://consulta.tesouro.fazenda.gov.br/gru/gru_simples.asp );
 - send or deliver the specified documents to the Secretary of the PPGCOGCOM / UFMG (room 4005, Fafich, UFMG).
 
Detailed explanations on the enrollment and the fee payment can be found in the announcement of the admission process. Requests after the deadline or with incomplete or irregular documentation will be rejected.
The program requires all foreign applicants, unborn and non-residents of countries where Portuguese is not an official language to provide proof of instrumental Portuguese knowledge. For applicants unborn and non-residents of countries where English is an official language, proof of instrumental English knowledge is also required.

Masters Degree Admission Process
At the time of registration, along with the other documents required and according to the current announcement, candidates must submit a letter of intent specifying their research interests within the range of choices offered by the program. This letter should contain the area of research intended, a summary and the theoretical basis of the topic of interest.
The selection process will follow two stages:
- a written test in which the candidate must obtain at least 70 points in 100 to be approved. This exam is eliminatory and classificatory;
 - analysis of the candidate’s curriculum and letter of intent. The analysis of the curriculum is equivalent to 20%, and the letter of intent to 80% of the total mark of this 2nd stage, which is also eliminatory and classificatory.

PhD Degree Admission Process
At the time of registration, along with the other documents required and according to the current announcement, the candidate must submit a preliminary research project that must contain the intended research area, the objectives and the justification for the project, as well as its theoretical references should be specified.
The selection process will have two stages:
- the evaluation of the preliminary research project in which the candidate must obtain at least 70 points in 100 to be approved. This stage is eliminatory and classificatory;
 - analysis of the candidate’s curriculum and research project. The analysis of the curriculum is equivalent to 20%, and the research project to 80% of the total mark of this 2nd stage, which is also eliminatory and classificatory.
