The Postgraduate Program in Anthropology at UFMG (PPGAN-UFMG) offers advanced training in two areas of concentration: Social Anthropology and Archeology. These two areas are part of the curriculum of several undergraduate courses of the Federal University of Minas Gerais since at least one decade of 1950. A specific postgraduate course in anthropology, a master’s degree, was created in 2006. Orebro for a doctorate, started in 2014, consolidate a postgraduate training and complement the undergraduate course in Anthropology, operating at UFMG since 2010: formations characterized by betting simultaneously on the specificity of Social Anthropology and Archeology and on the possibilities of Articulation Between two disciplines. In the period from 2008 to 2016, 101 master’s dissertations were defended. No historical link is described in more detail the presence in the past and not present the field of knowledge at the Federal University of Minas Gerais.
